Residents in Footscray that are affected by the Regional Rail Link project have a formal meeting with Transport officials and get a first look at what the fate of their homes are but still leave very disappointed with how the process is being handled. As reported by Channel 9 6pm evening news on 14 July 2010
There was a similar scenario back in Hong Kong when a village was affected by the planned High-speed rail. However the reaction from the villagers and the politicians is far more aggressive. (Check out "Opposition to the Guangzhou-Hong Kong Express Rail Link" in Wikipedia.)
