That's a great question. I'd love to hear a factual, rational answer. I've thought long and hard about how this would affect both straight people and gays in deciding how to vote on Amendment 1 so I'd welcome a different perspective. So far, I've only seen paranoia and speculation which has led to empty rhetoric on the part of opponents of the amendment.

The only circumstances in which I can think of would be those in which both partners adopted the children or went through the courts.
