This video resumes the flight of the BEXUS 9 stratospheric balloon. The images are taken from the COMPASS experiment cameras. The sound is the real one and in the final part you can hear the noise of the helicopter and of the recovery team. For more information visit www.compassteam.altervista.org

  • @erneland2 in these days we are preparing a paper for the REXUS/BEXUS Experiment Results Symposium. If you want I can send you a copy of the paper by email when it will be finished,

  • @einst87 >> I was referring to the filming ;-). Nice project though. I work with the IGRF model on a more or less daily basis. What was your findings? Any report that is official that I can read?

    Cheers,

    Michael

  • @erneland2 Hi Michael. The goal of your experiment was very different to the Compass' one. We wanted to measure the geomagnetic polar field intensity and compare it to the IGRF model. We had to deminate the attitude of the gondola so we decide to use an IMU, a sun sensor and two cameras as an horizon sensor.

  • Very similar to MMSP project also conducted in Kiruna but back in 2006/2007.

    Nice scenery.

    Best Regards,

    Michael
