  • In my opinion and for differents malawi specialists ( Ad Konings), this mbuna is from the family metriaclima (maylandia) like metriaclima (maylandia) msobo and heteropictus from tanzanian coast but Andreas Spreinat concider this specie in pseudotropheus group.

  • metriaclima sp. "membe deep don t live at Chizumulu island, he live at Likoma island between Membe point and Maingano.

  • Wow! Cichlid heaven!

  • Very nicely done,What was the bottom floor like? was is a smooth sand like texture? Thanks for posting that video and letting us come for the ride

  • Do you speak german?

    My english is worst, sorry.

Thats the old discussion, Andreas Spreinat called Pseudotropheus, Konings Metriaclima.

I ask some exporteurs in Germany what´s there Opinion about the Name is, and all called, Msobo and Membe Deep as an Pseudotropheus.

  • Ok, but you must say this is not the Membe Point, i know those fish live there....

and in my opinion, currently can you "metriaclima" membe depp called as an Pseudotropheus, not an Metriaclima.

  • Where are the Ps. membe deep?
