She doesn't bash parents she just says that teenagers didn't have much too say against parents in the old days, now we can because of new laws.

the song is a protest against such platitudes and basically says: we will do what we want to do and not what you want us to do. and commonplaces are not true points of view so you must try and give your strictures mire substance if you want to influence us.

The song has nothing to do with attacking the parents' generation as a whole nor with denouncing everything it did as wrong. It's not the 1968 movement.

actuall, no, this is not the point. the point is: so-called adults have bashed the youth for some 5'000 years (probably longer, but we have no older written records), and sentences like "we were better-behaved", "young people are lazy and don't respect the older" (because the older are always dying for "respect") have become commonplace.
