as this song is sung today about the some of older generation - tomorrows youth will be singing the same about some of this generation - learn from each other - try to understand why people feel the way they do - could be a life time of being screwed over by others whatever the age.....................................
Oh I see, the old people have been saying this stuff for 5000 years, but this is the very first time that any young person has ever expressed these sentiments. Hmmm you aren't exactly the brightest penny in the box are you.
So you are saying for 5000+ years this same theme has been repeating itself. So I ask you what happened to each generation that asked those questions? You make my point for me: for 5000+ years every generation of young people have been saying the same thing over and over and over. My point is that singer does a pretty trite job of it for her (your) generation. You should hold out for better. This song sounds like it was written by an 8 year old.
the song is a protest against such platitudes and basically says: we will do what we want to do and not what you want us to do. and commonplaces are not true points of view so you must try and give your strictures mire substance if you want to influence us.
The song has nothing to do with attacking the parents' generation as a whole nor with denouncing everything it did as wrong. It's not the 1968 movement.
actuall, no, this is not the point. the point is: so-called adults have bashed the youth for some 5'000 years (probably longer, but we have no older written records), and sentences like "we were better-behaved", "young people are lazy and don't respect the older" (because the older are always dying for "respect") have become commonplace. (to be continued)
Have you every stopped to think that the only point of this song is 'I don't like what you think, I don't like you, I don't like what you say, neener neener neener' I have never heard such infantile tripe in my life. Even 'My Generation' by the Who, well er I guess it was just as bad really, but at least it had a beat.
I think you are just a complete idiot who's got no clue but is all the more big-mouthed (as it is always the case with idiots). You are exactly the kind of person the song is about, mirroring the lyrics wich such erfection it is kind of astounding. The proper answer to your pathetic little rant is to be found in the song itself: No true point of view, you're just a joke and there is no point in listening to you.
This is the Anthem of the Obamorons. These clueless buffoons think that they invented the rebellious youth meme. Wow! This world is in some seriously deep kimche if this is the best the 'Youth of Today' can produce as an indictment of their parents' generation. Goes to show that blonds don't have a stranglehold on dumb.

The lyrics are so true.
And lol at the fucking idiot posting that this song doesnt make sense or is a wrong message.
She doesn't bash parents she just says that teenagers didn't have much too say against parents in the old days, now we can because of new laws.
Teenagers say what they want too say.
And older ones always says we were better behaved or something like that and its so fucking annoying.
Im a teenager myself i can totally understand why she wrote these when she was 15

Ahem, no, the OLD people have been repeating the same thing for 5000 years, not the young. Being able to read helps sometimes.

The song itself is a platitude.

You should try writing when you are sober. It might actually make sense.

I agree, she does have a good singing voice. It's the writing 'voice' that needs serious overhaul.

I like the way you express yourself, even if I don't fully agree with you. I like her voice.
