Today turned into tomorrow.
I saw how Bella Luna sunk so quickly
into the hum of the buzzing buildings.
Night comes faster here.
Earlier that day
the sun bet down like a drum
on the salt-bitten streets of America and 23rd,
but I was stuck in the shadow of moving forward.

I'm so tired from last night's neighbor brawl.
The insults were vivid through the wall.
The fighting, I felt a little like crying,
I was so damn tired
Lovers, be they separated for now,
and bicker between the lines,
the heart truly longs!

When I walk around I follow my image in the windows,
I can see their perceptions in my reflections
but I just don't care.
My, when the pages turn and life rolls on
I hope we all find
what we've been searching for,
because I don't have the same wishes anymore.
I don't know where I'm going but I'm not faking it.
I see determined people walking fast
but I just feel like walking slow.
I'm looking for a winter coat
and craving a little cantaloupe
but I still haven't found
the grocery store.
For now fakers rob me blind,
but this little life,
has a Starbucks on the way...
who could ask, who could ask for more?

Then one day on an empty road,
I saw a girl and followed her lead;
A girl in a quirky yellow dress,
playful down the street
performing her harmonica in C.
Like a happy thinking cloud
and a bright idea,
there weren't nothing but music,
music,
on her mind!

The sun falls behind the walls
but it still reflects off of other windows
high above the clouds.
Like a sun from the other side of town,
it shines longer when you're closer to the Open East.
There's an energy here
and it's just starting to jive with me!

I'm trying to see the brighter side
but i was feelin' so blue-
until a simple street man yells my way
his smile held me like glue.
Empty of teeth,
but full of joy
he grins and calls me,
"Sweet angel from paradise!"
sweet angel from paradise.

LOVE the back story about this song...I like hearing you talk..and sing, of course!! Not a lot of singers have the same charisma when they speak..and you do,,,
