In Salt Lake County, construction of the Mountain View Corridor is about halfway complete. View the video to see just how far we've come. Crews are on schedule to complete initial construction of the Mountain View Corridor by the end of 2012.

  • We recently got 134th from Bangerter to Herriman back to 2 lanes each way which has been desperately needed (it was overdue when it was first completed in about '07). It's terrible to have that down to one lane and produces ridiculous wait times. Now it's right back to one lane again! Was there really no sufficient planning to accommodate the needs for that important section? Please tell me this one lane stuff on 134th will be over soon and won't happen again!

  • @sliderb4u unfortunately you will be seeing ongoing restrictions on 13400 S through Fall 2012. The Mountain View work is done but we're partnering with Riverton on a widening project & will be putting in a CFI at Bangerter. The work you're seeing now is the utility companies getting ready for the widening work this summer. They will open lanes between work as they can but you should expect ongoing impacts until at least November.

  • @UtahDOT Hmm, well that's not encouraging. Suppose there is an emergency in Herriman, (e.g. machine gun fire), and we all have to get out of town quickly. How would that ever happen? Are the single lanes of 126th or Bacchus, supposed to handle it all? We're all ready stuck in traffic on a good day. A relatively local emergency in Herriman would be greatly exacerbated because of serious traffic problems. I hope that's being looked considered, in addition to the burden we carry daily now.

  • @sliderb4u on every project we work with local emergency responders to develop a plan on how access would be maintained in an emergency situation.

  • I'm sorry but I'm not sure where the pipe you are referring to is located. I've talked with the project & we're unaware of any pipe that was installed incorrectly. There was a storm drain system damaged after installation near 11800 & 13400 S. but it was installed correctly. Crews are now removing & replacing the damaged pipe which will require removing some pavement. Additional precautions will be taken to prevent future damage.
