The problem isn't its sheer complexity, but the fact that the game frontloads the game with all the lore and the game's systems off the bat, instead of introducing the elements individually and giving the player time to take it all in before introducing something new.

Right off the bat you're given three tasks, each with their own purposes and reasons behind them, space those out for when the player is actually doing those tasks.

People swear by the original, but I like the atmosphere of DKII much more. They're both pretty cheap on GOG and there are a lot worse ways to blow a few afternoons.

Or maybe they should have included a braille version for people who are deaf, because all deaf people are blind.

It's uninteresting game design, but you can't claim they didn't tell you the information. Obviously there are way better ways of conveying information in games, but while watching this video I kept thinking "Please, stop talking just for a second and pay attention to these instructions so I don't have to suffer through more confusion".

As much as I love Giant Bomb, I couldn't help but laugh when they complained about complexity in a Paradox title.
