This week, when a GOP appointed federal judge struck down Proposition 8, the California constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage, predictably, Fox News used the event as an opportunity to bash Pres. Barack Obama for supposedly "disagreeing with himself on gay marriage," but Fox News created this supposed self-disagreement by quoting Obama out of context to mean the opposite of what he actually said and ignoring Obama's clear statements opposing Proposition 8 during the 2008 election as I show in this video.

The clips I use from Fox News come from the August 5, 2010, broadcast of "Special Report with Brett Baier," the first segment of which is available online at http://video.foxnews.com/v/4303703/obama-disagrees-with-himself-on-gay-marriage

The second segment of the August 5, 2010, broadcast of "Special Report with Brett Baier" from which I took a clip is available online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9X34TCmfSpo

The November 1, 2008, clip of Barack Obama's interview on MTV comes from my February 9, 2009 YouTube video titled "O'Reilly Slam of Sean Penn on Gay Marriage Factually False (Twice)?" available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXjFHDu_yj0

The transcript (and ABC News logo) from the June 2008 Jake Tapper interview of Barack Obama that I use in this video is available online at http://abcnews.go.com/WN/Politics/story?id=5178123&page=4

The image I use of Barack Obama's letter published in the July 2008 San Francisco Chronicle is available online at http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/07/01/BAS111I682.DTL

  • straight, but not narrow minded. gay rights now!

  • @1luv408 Anyone who gets this worked up over gay rights must be a closet homosexual like Ted Haggard. Don't be afraid to come out of the closet.

  • I suppose that in our atomized society it is no surprise that so many people will argue against institutions and for the right of the individual to have whatever the hell he or she fancies at the time. If same-sex marriage doesn't hurt me, why should I object?

But I do object, because I do not want to live in a society that gives its stamp of approval to sodomy. If same-sex marriages are allowed the whole institution of marriage is tainted.

  • I blame Fox News AND Obama for this. Fox for being such a pathetic propaganda organisation and Obama for having such a pathetically weak position on gay marriage that it's actually easy to mistake his position.

Come out of the closet Obama, seems like it's safe to say you're in favour of gay marriage.

  • has fox news EVER run a correction?

  • @IcedCoffee81 Also I'm for and not for gay marriage but because Idaho is conservative I'll go relocate myself there because England is just way too liberal for my taste. Again, read what you write, I have yet to figure out your paradoxes. That's like asking a masked man who he is.

  • @IcedCoffee81 Yes, all liberals sacrifice lambs during the druid orgy month of the star of Elise. Liberals also make you smoke pot. Opposing conservationism can without a doubt make you a hippie because without the experienced hand of the prophets from the right that are clearly "right" (hehe, failed pun) you'll be turned into a wimp. Do you not read what you write?

  • See? There IS a SUCH THING as LIBERAL FASCISM too. I'm neutral toward gay marriage. But there were many Californians that voted for prop 8 and now the voters end up having their vote rejected by four tree hugging hippies. Even though I've lived in the SF Bay Area all my life, I'm SO relocating to southern California since it's slightly more conservative down there even despite Hollywood. Opposing conservatism makes all you liberal, hippy, fruity, wimpy and occultist jungle lovers one sided too.

  • @WhiteStar11111 How so?

  • @aaron9099

    It affects everyone else.
