Being the product of billions of years of evolution, ecosystems are the most resilient and successful systems on the planet; self-regulating and self-sustaining, they are the product and creators of life.

What then, can patterns found in ecology tell us about human made systems? Could it be that these principles could be applied in human design or even in human social systems? Being that we, in fact, are also products of nature, I believe they could.
