  • psh, killing the council is the best choice. Wasting ships to save 3 people,

    ---------

naw man, there are more than 3 people on that ship, and that ship is pretty damn powerful, standing up on its own against a fleet of Geth. if nothing else, gotta save the ship and all the hot asari on board. Fuck the council.

  • ...plus u think tht by saving the ascension then we'd have another ship to help us kill sovereign...but NOOOO..they sit there and do nothing......sounds exactly like the council to me

  • In all fairness, the Alliance lost 8 ships by saving the Council. 8 ships aren't going to do much to tip the balance against the Reapers. You also gain the trust of the 3 Council Species and save a fuckhuge dreadnought for ME3. It had better be leading the charge with the words "Destiny Ascension move in! Save the Alliance Ships!"

  • I saved the council, but in Mass Effect 3, that damned Destiny Ascension better be front and center in the battle to retake Earth from the Reapers.

  • @superbrar hahaaa

  • @Freelancer591 The Ascension is a dreadnaught, which means it is ment for long range combat. It most likely has no short range offensive weapons (that role is meant to be filled by support vessels). With its point defences overwhelmed, the Geth could concentrate fire on a section till the armour failed, and continue to do that 'til they killed it.

  • I ONLY feel bad for the crew of the Ascension dying too...but I would let the Council die anytime, anywhere.

  • @Freelancer591 i think i might have a theory for that i believe that when saren took control of the citadel control he could disable the weapons of the ship but i think it can be just that a theory maybe soverign gave the geth stronger weapons for the battle so they caused damage to it very quickly

  • I'm so sorry, but is it just me or does the single largest ship in the citadel fleet seem a little..... wimpy? During the entire battle, we never saw the Ascension fire a shot. Did the council tell the gunnery crews to stand down and wait for re-enforcements or some shit? That seems to be a re-occurring theme with the council. Sit there and wait for humanity to come charging in and save their asses. Well guess what, this time we got a little sick of being the cavalry for once.

  • I've finished ME three times, yet I always sacrifice the Council. It seems like the right thing to do, to go after the bigger threat. But having finished ME2, I almost think humanity's superiority is a bad thing, like the newcomers having too much power too soon, disturbing the status quo. Thank you BioWare for creating such an intriguing story and difficult moral conundrums! =D

  • @postapocalyptia

    true, good point.

but from what i heard the ascension was used to evacuate the civilian population on the citadel, sorry if im wrong.
