http://www.RobertGoulet.com *I Get Along Without You Very Well is a song composed by Hoagy Carmichael in 1939, with lyrics based on a poem written by a widow for her husband. Her name was Jane Brown Thompson and her identity as the author of the poem was for many years unknown. Sadly, she died the night before it was introduced on the radio by Dick Powell.

  • I think she performed this song very well, tenderly, as it was intended.

As for voice, maybe she felt this song deserved a different treatment than what we might otherwise anticipate.

She was one in a million!

  • I love Eartha

  • No offense to Eartha whatsoever, but MAN I wish she handed Goulet the mic!!!

  • Eartha was a great person. I met her several times at concerts in Germany. No trace of affectation or arogant Star Diva. Among her fans, she was always very friendly, always took a lot Zeit.Auch after strenuous Auftritten.Sie liked your fans. The stars of today are your fans often only as a dollar sign.

  • There are hundreds of singers out there, but there are only a few artists. This woman was one of the most incredible artists and I am still very sad to know that we've lost her. Thank you for posting this, it was very moving.

  • Such an wonderful artist but unfortunately, under rated...
