@EdwardCullen5431 it's actually not, if you read the book there actual names are: Jasper Hale and Rosalie Hale (they're pretending to be silblings) Edward Cullen, Alice Cullen, Emmett Cullen, Carslile Cullen and Esme Cullen. Actually. :)

Actually, Jasper's power is to manipulate people's emotions in general. Not just to calm, but he can make people feel tired, pain, hungry, angry, excited.
A lot of people forget that.

@stephyheart He's tense in the series because that's how Jazz actually acts in the books. Until Bella is changed, Jasper is very cautitous around Bella, because not only is he the newest 'vegetarian,' he is also far more used to drinking human blood. He spent at least 80 years drinking from humans, and only the previous 60 years denying that thirst.
