This is a review for my Smith & Wesson 686 plus 357 MAGNUM. In this review i discuss the features of this 357 magnum. Such as the 5 inch barrel and unfluted cylinder. I demonstrate the use of a speed loader, and talk about the use of a 357 magnum as a field gun. I also comepare buying a handgun to owning silver bullion or other precious metals.

  • I also have a 686 and love it. I want to know about your finish, is it a special finish? Your 686 looks much more reflective and shinny than mine?

  • @DamienX84 The weapon is brushed stainless steel. The Piece achieves its luster from cleaning and polishing cloths. After cleaning the weapons cylinder, and barrel, I then rub all the steel parts down with Birchwood Casey Lead Remover & Polishing Cloth. This removes most of the dirt embedded in the steel. Then I rub the weapon down with a Metal Care Cloth from Pro-Shot, which cleans & polishes the weapon further. I use Birchwood Casey Gun & Reel Silicone Cloth for light detail work.

  • Nice gun man! What's the model # on that revolver?

  • Awesome gun....like the way you hold the gun up and close so we all can get a good look at it.

  • Any problems with the internal lock?

    Thanks

  • I've got the 6" barrel, beauty of a weapon, took it out of the box, cleaned it, loaded and did some target practice, 5 out of 7 hits on a knockover stand first time with no adjustments

  • I have the same pistol but 8 and 1/8 love it

  • Very nice weapon. Hard to get the likes of that in Australia..lol and its silver

  • Its a nice gun ! it will be on my next purchase list

  • L for "lock" Just coincidental its a L frame

  • Was the unfluted cylinder a special version? Or is that the way they make the 5" version?

  • yes you can use and rolingpoint too
