Media Matters is claiming Lou Dobbs was spreading a conspiracy theory, when he reported on Democrat Marcy Kaptur's claim George W. Bush was working toward a North American Union http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xr5wUEe8m_E
Media Matters also stated this in their July 24, 2009 email:
"How can we forget his preoccupation with conspiracy theories about purported government plans for a North American Union between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada?"
This is rather odd since the claim was coming from Democrat Marcy Kaptur, and was directed at Republican George W. Bush. Marcy Kaptur also posted this on her web site http://www.kaptur.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id...
Global Exchange is a Progressive human rights group and they have also reported on the North American Union, otherwise known as the SPP. To see Global Exchange's page on the SPP see http://www.globalexchange.org/spp.html
Global Exchange also has a book on how Mexico's economy has been devastated for working class people. The book The Right to Stay Home includes detailed information about how NAFTA devastated the economy of Mexico, and the SPP will likely do more damage: see page 12 http://www.globalexchange.org/countries/americas/mexico/TheRighttoStayHome.html
The above book from Global Exchange was a collaboration by people from the US and Mexico on how to benefit working people in Mexico to reduce immigration, rather than trying to build a wall, or enacting harsh measures on people who have lost their livelihood due to US intervention.
Why would Media Matters want to discredit a real issue that will cause further hardship for the people of Mexico, people of the US, and even Canada?
Media Matters is supposed to correct right wing propaganda in the news. Perhaps the Progressive news site CommonDreams.org can shed some light on this matter by looking at Media Matters founders http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0503-04.htm
Also see my web post that contains the above information and Media Matters email on Lou Dobbs from July 24, 2009 http://mrxfromplanetx.com/media-matters-hypes-diversions
Note: I have a link to the Common Dreams article where I'm getting this information from on the to the right of this video. Media Matters was started by a slanderous right wing journalist name David Brock, and John D. Podesta, Clinton's former chief of staff.
Since NAFTA was enacted under the Clinton administration, this might explain why Media Matters is claiming the SPP is part of Lou Dobbs imagination.

Teamters Hoffa Jr. sold out to Senior Bush and was going along with the North American Union. The Teamsters Union are corrupt and are not representating the rank & file, they are stealing everyones unins dues and selling out to the corrupt Presidents & congress members, all part of the New World Order.

Sorry, I have a link on the right side bar, but it wasn't working because it had a period on the end. I fixed it. I have also added a link at the top of this video so people can watch the Media Matters video. If you want to return to this video, just press the back button.
People might be interested to know Media Matters was stated by a right wing hack reporter David Brock and John D. Podesta, the former Clinton chief of staff according to Common Dreams and the New York Times
