森田監督は黒澤監督の偉大さをしらしめたくてカバーしたとしか思
えない。すべてのシーンで桁違い。殺陣の迫力の違いは100分の 1ぐらい。「椿三十郎」の中盤、門の前の大量殺陣シーンは必見。 ふるえる。 -

I just saw this for the first time tonight. Blew me away. Just as brilliant as Seven Samurai or The Hidden Fortress.

My favorite Kurosawa movie bar none.
It IS overwhelmingly entertaining. I think the remake was pointless. The movie is just as entertaining as it would have been when it was first released. I feel this is a film of timeless value (and much greater than The Seven Samurai IMSillyO, with which I am kind of bored with every time I see it).
