  • Nice videos!

I wanna learn how to work with a lathe. Would say its ok to learn by doing? Or should I get some help...an experienced guy like yourself on my side to show me how to?

  • @AnselmoFanZero You can certainly do it by yourself, but sometimes helpful to have an old hand nearby.

  • i just purchased a Logan model 7500 lathe i ran it at the shop and its in good condition everything works on it and i bought it for $600 do you think it is a reasonable price......Sir

  • @romeojuliet54 Yes--worth at least 800 or 900

  • how many lathes do you have? I know about the two in the basement, this one looks like a one from the garage (yes, I see the tractor), so it makes it a third one. don't tell me you have more? :)

  • @seasonedtoker I have sold this Logan lathe since this video was made.

  • Great service you provide!. I spend more time on the lathe then my job and your skills have improved my work considerably. Thanks a lot for your guidance. I feel bad asking, but I'd love some guidance on:

-leveling, gibbing Heavy 10 (or any other lathe)

-cutting a good 5-c collet (mine are pretty high tolerance, but not great)

-accurate measurement when dealing with a lot of slop (old machine)

    -setup for lathe/milling machine

Thanks again, you should be paid for this work you've done!

  • You are awesome!

  • I love your videos and think they are the best on youtube, but your wife must think you are talking to your lathes when you are filming your work, he he,

keep up the good work your doing showing us how to do it

    best regards from wales uk

  • Do you have a video or information on radius turning/ball turning?

  • Would the process be the same for cutting an internal taper

    Excellet video. :)

    Thank you

  • Really enjoyed watching your video, it sort of took me back to my own engineering days, I was once a fully skilled Press Toolmaker including making Jigs & Fixtures, I could jump on any machine in the toolroom with confidence in my operator skills, but its only because of people like yourself who taught me well. I miss those days as I drive for a living now, but I retain my engineering background for ever.

Excellent video - Thumbs up from England :-)

  • @mrpete222

Yep. Thats what I was thinkin. Thanks!

  • Thanks for this video series, i have a 13 inch south bend lathe ( belong to my father, now he left this world ) and i start to learning how to set up the cutting bits,
