RX-8 at VIR Grand - FSR DE Sept 2009 - getting passed a lot

Sept 20 2009 First Settlers Region DE at VIR's Grand East Course in my RX-8. First time in Blue run group. I seem to be the guy with the knife at the gunfight. I'm getting passed by the faster guys in the group.

The pace of the group is off as the train gets behind slower cars, a spun car, and guys not familiar with the Grand Course line.

At the end don't miss the fabulous Porsche noises.

Mostly true. Most of the turns are pretty slow (note absence of tire howl) because it's a beginner group & some of the guys didn't know the track well. I was usually easy on the throttle during passes to allow cars by cleaner, but not always. The C4S, GT3 and RX-7 have 150-200 HP on me; hence the "knife at the gunfight" and getting left behind on the straights. Even at my best, I'm probably 10-15 seconds off a skilled driver's pace at Grand East in an RX-8. Hopefully, not for long.
