Caught two UP trains in Pomona, California on Wed January 4th, 2012. I filmed off of Temple Ave, which is a good road due to the fact that it crosses both UP Subdivisions within about 100 yards of each other. Temple Ave is a bridge overpass for the LA Subdivision, and a grade crossing for the Alhambra Subdivision. I caught one train at each location.

Train #1...The westbound Union Pacific Rock Train passes under Temple Ave with a full load. This train is heading towards the Los Angeles area via the LA Subdivision.

Train #2...A large westbound stack train crosses Temple Ave on the Alhambra Subdivision during sunset. Six engines power the nearly all EMP Container train. It's weird to see a stacktrain with all the same containers.

Thanks for Watching!!

  • Very good, Chris!

I notice to my chagrin that pieces of history were scrapped—the old Griswold signals at the level crossing were replaced with these Safetran signals. I wish UP gave the old signals a second chance.

  • @NebulaTrain99 Ya I hear ya! Those old Griswold signals were cool!! New technological advances suck sometimes!!

  • Your opening shot was superb! Nice sunset with the second train too. Great job!

  • @UnionPacific18 Thanks bud! Have you ever been on these UP Subdivisions? The LA or Alhambra? They can be pretty decent!

  • Awesome video! Looks like a really nice spot!

  • @Aero203 Thanks!

  • @AmtrakCal462 Ya, BNSF and Union Pacific

  • @SWChief34 Sure! BNSF I'm assuming ya??

  • @AmtrakCal462 Sometimes...usually in La Junta, CO when I am waiting for an Amtrak. I also have a few from the car, the tracks are next to the road. If you would like I can upload them.

  • @SWChief34 Thanks...do you ever film any freights?
