the economics in ireland booms, it has a service sector of over 40%, is a favored destination for foreign investments and ranks #7 worldwide in direct investments. the national debt from 1990 (95.2%) has sunken to 25.1% (2006). maybe you don't like it and probably you won't understand it but this success is 100% based on the efforts of the eu. the eu does not need ireland but try to guess who needs the eu?

If the EU is the equivalant of a united states of america, I would say kiss your democracy goodbye.We have no controll of our government.Why are there 47 types of toothpaste at the walmart to choose from but when I vote for president I only get to choose from two.also there is nothing in walmart with a made in EU sticker on it.We just spent our childrens future on an unjustified war.Did any government official from EU try to stop it,No,because both our countries are run by the same crimminals.

Damn right it's time for reform but we can lean a thing or two from the US and Switzerland. Direct democracy is the answer.
