A GOOD TIP THAT I SAW FOR MELTING THE SOLDER IS TO USE A PENNY AND USE YOUR HEAT SOURCE (HEAT GUN) OR OVEN ON A PIECE OF SOLDER ON THE PENNY AND TIME HOW LONG IT TAKES TO MELT - USE THAT TIME WHEN DOING THE JOB FOR REAL AND USE A HAND HELD THERMOMETER FOR AN APPROXIMATE TEMP - I HAVE SEEN 270C TO 350C ON THE INTERNET WHICH IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BUT IT DEPENDS ON THE TIME ALSO. I AM PLANNING TO UPGRADE A SMALL ADVENT NOTEBOOK PROCESSOR TO DUEL CORE, THE PROCESSOR IS AN N330 INTEL ATOM DUEL CORE BGA

Why not use an IR thermostate to check temp on the Chip ?

@ivanblogs It is indeed the same board. :) I've been sitting on it due to the difficulty in manufacturing and working on a BGA.
