airzound wouldn't have helped, he knew I was there and still did it.

Almost makes me think it was a mistake - albeit it a really dumb one, because as you say he must have known you were there, just didn't make sure he gave you enough room - because the next time he did. And I loved the way the tandem slingshotted past him - and then you again! Should hopefully make him realise how fast a bike can go.
