Okay, I understood your point. Thanks for the feedback. I thought of, yes, we can let the water run as we soap our hands but be mindful not to turn the faucet to its max flow of water...so to minimize wasting our resources. ^_,^

@Dove314 In this particular instance though he had no excuse because the faucet is controlled by a foot pedal. He could easily have turned it off and back on as needed.

@Dove314 Well unfortunately that's how it is in healthcare. Using any part of the body to turn the water off prior is considered contaminating yourself as you turn on the faucet with dirty hands. You turn the water off after drying your hands thoroughly and with a dry paper towel. I figure the way the see it is, it's cheaper paying for water than paying for medical treatment when a person gets sick because of contamination.

Why is that every time i view a handwashing technique vid, i see they let the water run as they soap their hands...this is wasting water! I've have viewed not less than 15 vids on same topic today and they all waste water. Can't we turn off the water with our elbow right before we put soap on our hands?!
