with a squat that wide damn...
-
ok im not saying i could do thois, but its be nice if the fucking judges would actually judge right...
-
@hoodloom22 i never said that squatting above parallel doesnt make you stronger. but this is a powerlifting competition. there has to be a yardstick to measure whether its a legal squat or not, and going to parallel is a good one, its in all the rule books, but its not enforced. thus many squat records are meaningless. squatting a little high in the gym isnt such a big deal, but doing it in an official contest and having it passed is outrageous.

I just thought it was interesting the worlds strongest man trains "squatting shallow." Also, it was not "far too high". It was pretty close to deep enough. Pause at his lowest point.
-
@hoodloom22 what is your point? savickas was training, he wasnt trying to pass them off as legal pl squats.
-
type "savickas warmup 270kgs" and look at his depth. He is strongest man in world AND he won silver in 2000 IPF 125+ kg.

Fucking pathetic

@sr19 aaaah interesting...

no walk out

@joemcbobinite 470 kgs, Andrey has also squated 480kgs single ply. he recently squated 450 kgs (993lbs) with only knee wraps and a belt, which is considered raw because no suit was used. Andrey is by far the best squatter ever to have lived....as you can tell I am a big fan of him haha but seriously check him out, perfect squats every time....My all time fav is Ed coan, but I agree that kirk was one of the best as well in terms of squats
i cannot believe that was passed. it was far too high, end of. hes very strong, but the most basic criteria for a legal squat is for crese of hip to go at least parallel with top of the knees. no one bothers with that though, so records are just meaningless due to incompetant and naive officials
