This 911 call took place in a town in Indiana. The woman briefly dated Ryan Bergner. She declined further dates, but the man refused to leave her alone, stalking and harassing her. The woman filed six complaints against him. Then he made the last wrong decision of his life - he broke into her house.
Some have noted the shots are difficult to hear in this call, whether because of poor phone quality or other distortions. The sounds of the door being kicked also confuse matters. At 5:35, Bergner states "what are you trying to do, kill me?" which we know was after some of the shots were fired. If you listen closely at 5:44, it sounds like another shot can be heard, likely the third, because the wounded intruder was trying to strangle her.

If you are related to Ryan Bergner, my sympathies for your loss, but this audio coupled with police investigations tells the whole story.
If you are the woman in this audio, I have the highest regard for you and hope that you will not mind us using your story to illustrate the need for gun ownership.

fuck manners, imma buying a pistol first chance i get. props to the woman for protecting herself. i know there are cases where killing isn't worth it, or defending yourself with a gun is impossible, but it should be kept for those occasions where it will save you
I life in germany and I can asure you guys that gabrielKnight666 is telling the truth. We aren´t allowed to protect ourselfes with knifes, slingshots, crossbows or guns but with batons... If you use a knife to protect yourselfs you will get sued for injuring the attacker. That´s "normal" in germany.. Fucked up country.. Criminals here DO bare guns... yet the law abiding citizens don´t and thus can´t protect their lifes... Police may only act if crime has allready beend comitted (shots fired)
@Teaautomat I live in germany to. But i thought we were at least allowed to defend ourselfs. It´s called "Notwehr". But I´m not well informed about that topic. But i hope to go to america one day. Hopefully I'll be allowed to stay.
Hah. Das ist kein Scherz. Informier dich mal. Total BESCHEUERT.
Sounds like Nazi Germany all over again almost. Isn't it Finland or one of the other Nordic countries where they are required by law to own at least one gun and their crime rate is the lowest of the world?
@ angelicainark No. It´s switzerland. You have to join a milita at a certain age and with joining it you get an automatic rifle and you have to keep your rifle in your home with a sufficient ammo. And yes their gun crime rate is the lowest in the world. Sounds logical to me. I wouldn´t brake in a home or comit any crime in a place where everyone has a gun and could take me down in a matter of seconds.
