This 911 call took place in a town in Indiana. The woman briefly dated Ryan Bergner. She declined further dates, but the man refused to leave her alone, stalking and harassing her. The woman filed six complaints against him. Then he made the last wrong decision of his life - he broke into her house.

Some have noted the shots are difficult to hear in this call, whether because of poor phone quality or other distortions. The sounds of the door being kicked also confuse matters. At 5:35, Bergner states "what are you trying to do, kill me?" which we know was after some of the shots were fired. If you listen closely at 5:44, it sounds like another shot can be heard, likely the third, because the wounded intruder was trying to strangle her.

If you are related to Ryan Bergner, my sympathies for your loss, but this audio coupled with police investigations tells the whole story.

If you are the woman in this audio, I have the highest regard for you and hope that you will not mind us using your story to illustrate the need for gun ownership.

  • It's stories like this that make proud to be in a country that hasn't completely turned into a police state. Sadly, we're going down this road. I don't care if you're a democrat or a republican, liberal or conservative. If you don't want your personal liberties stripped from you, such as the right to bear arms AND freedom of speech, take a stand and say something. It's because of those two rights that this woman is alive and I'm posting this comment. Otherwise, move to Europe. We don't need you.

  • The response lady said don't do anything rash, he might not know you're there?? WTF? That's the reason he broke in!! And I would rather an intruder NOT know I'm there, if he's broken in my house without my permission for whatever reason, I'll shoot him! That's not rash, that's logically and sensibly the right thing to do to protect yourself and your property!

  • I thank this women for getting rid of criminals in society. She was brave and did the right thing

  • I dont want her working she is a coward and will have people die

  • get out side dont lock yourself in

  • I would love to hear all of the police radio traffic on this.

  • @tehDman Very Nice, it saddens me that people can be so ignorant the 2nd amendment was designed to(when necessary) to protect the other amendments and citizens against tyranny(in all forms).

  • A country based on violence... be proud of it, lads. First you killed the Native Americans and then you fucked up the world. In my country, we have 5 kills per year... US-Americans do more per day! 60 kills or more per weekend...Still you think it's good to carry a gun?

  • This woman kept her cool and remained level headed. She did the right thing, locked herself in her room while armed, she kept her phone mike open with the police dispatcher on the other line. She was terrified; the right to own arms for self preservation is a good thing. This video makes that point crystal clear!

  • good on her!

  • This 911 call gives me chills every time I hear it. Without a gun to defend herself this woman would be dead, all hte police would have been able to do when they arrived would be to charge Ryan Bergner for her murder - a cold comfort to her and her family/friends.

Without the right to bear arms we have to depend on others, who may not be there in time, to defend us - are you willing to risk your life or your loved ones lives to someone else?

PROTECT OUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.
