A break-down of David Gilmour's solo. I have taught and played guitar for a living for over 30 years. I also play in a Pink Floyd tribute band. I am giving this lesson away for FREE as publicity for my channel. To get the full value out of this you must keep playing the second half over and over again. Look to see where the licks are played on the neck!
This is intended for intermediate to advanced players. If you have been playing guitar for less then a year, it's not for you.

  • hey mark, I have a stratocaster and a Boss ME 50 pedal, whats the config settings..you use to get that peculiar Gilmour tune?, nice video, thanks for the lesson :D

  • Thanks for the question. Put the Strat on the neck pickup. It's funny I used ME 50 for this vid! it was a custom sound. I used the Tube Screamer setting for Distortion, and delay with about two or three repeats. Thats about it. Then I ran it through a tube amp. Don't over do it with the distortion, just a touch.

  • Hi Mark,Great lesson.Keep rock-in All the best,Mark Walsh ............lol

  • Thanks, Mark Walsh, laughs

  • david gilmour is a beast

  • goodjob for your fat fingers, hopefully when im dat fat i can do that

  • BTW Gilmour used a Gibson Les Paul 57 Goldtop with p90 pickups in this solo. So the ideal would be to get a Gibson with p90 pickups not a strat, even if a stratocaster in the neck position sounds close.

  • excellent

  • This is great. Would love to learn that but unfortunately don't have an electric ;/ Thanks a lot.
