A break-down of David Gilmour's solo. I have taught and played guitar for a living for over 30 years. I also play in a Pink Floyd tribute band. hey mark, I have a stratocaster and a Boss ME 50 pedal, whats the config settings..you use to get that peculiar Gilmour tune?, nice video, thanks for the lesson :D

Thanks for the question. Put the Strat on the neck pickup. It's funny I used ME 50 for this vid! it was a custom sound. I used the Tube Screamer setting for Distortion, and delay with about two or three repeats. Thats about it. Then I ran it through a tube amp. Don't over do it with the distortion, just a touch.

BTW Gilmour used a Gibson Les Paul 57 Goldtop with p90 pickups in this solo. So the ideal would be to get a Gibson with p90 pickups not a strat, even if a stratocaster in the neck position sounds close.
