Great work! Linked over here from boyinaband. I'd recommend sketching the face out first (scanned drawing or tablet), then vector over it.
It will have inaccuracies, but that will give it character and will allow your artistic instincts to create nicer forms. Another general rule of thumb, top lip is darker ;)

Thank you so much! :) You know, I never actually thought of that... that's a really good idea! I'll be sure to try it next time I do a vector like this. Haha, I can never remember which way round that is, thanks for clearing that up. Always learning! :D Thank you very, very much.
