  • Yeah, I agree. Studs are awsome with newer style sleds, but the older ones have no suspension so the tunnel ends up getting torn up when you hit the hard bumps and it can also destroy your front coolers.

  • @sherb2 Nice sled !!! I had a 79 also...Mine was running with mikuni 39.5 mm...You need to have 38 mm mikuni and get the center bored at 39.5...A little jetting and you feel a big difference in power....My gears were 39/20......1979 rotary valve setting and with 1979 7500+ clutch setting...Brown spring.....Wow !! That was a beast !!! TNX for the vid !!!

  • @brilamb2 I had a 79 also and with 150 stud....You need to bring down the center idler shaft one inch and thighten the track !!!

  • gotta love that 2 stroke ripping sound, Snowmobiling forever!!

  • lol i had one of these its actually 467 cc's mine was in a really shit condition it fell off of a trailer lol before i got it

  • @blakemurphy302 +1 on the sound the pipes make! i love the way my 79 9500 sounds, ill be sure to get a few vids up as soon as its done being restored. feels good to completely rebuild the sled my grandpa bought brand new sight unseen, someting about wanting the biggest, most powerful, fastest sled that year.... i know how rare a nice 79 9500 sled is as they considered it a limited production, but your motoski, damn you just dont see many of those anymore!

  • @sherb2 i have a 79 9500 that my grandpa bought new, which im cleaning up and restoring now, it has .75 studs on it, as long as you tunnel wear strips are in place and good, you shouldnt have any problem with a .50 (5 point star) to a .75 stud. my tunnel is perfect, and my grandpa was a kinda big guy..

  • Dont stud it!!!! Unless lake riding like you were!

  • Awesome sled!! Nice!

  • studs destroy your track
