Here's Holly Miranda live at the Bowery Ballroom, NYC on May 26, 2010.
If there's one word to describe this show, it has got to be: In-f*cking-tense. Yep, it's not just one word, but heck, Holly Miranda killed it in her performances. One is bound to be in awe of her vocal range and how she manages to pull of those falsettos. I've seen countless times when the audience had to nudge whomever they are with when she goes for those high notes without a moment's hesitation. This woman knows what she's capable of and she's more than willing to show how it's done. That's the thing with such artists on a whole different league--their raw talent will penetrate your soul and compel you to never forget how they turned a seemingly mundane date into something epic. Her band, along with her friends whom she intermittently called up on stage were a definite added bonus.
She's just so damn good. Period.
Here's the setlist:
No One Just Is

Mark My Words
No One Can See Me Like You Do (Yoko Ono cover)

Forest Green, Oh Forest Green
Everytime I Go To Sleep

I'd Rather Go Blind (Etta James cover)

P.S.
Forgive some snippets of cursing on certain videos--I couldn't get over her f*cking brilliance. And oh, I'm still getting used to this new camera and the sudden zooming in/out irks the hell out of me.
