you have to jump and turn the lever at the same time for it to work.

Wow, that is awesome! Would be nice if you showed you going up in the elevator from the 3th person perspective! And also you might want to build something in your lighthouse, that the light goes right like in RL. Don't know how, but you'll figure it out someday!
