These were the hairiest rapids we found on that stretch. And for anyone concerned, jet skiing this river is NOT illegal. If you're in a kayak or raft and you're scared of our jetskis, just come talk to us and we'll get out of your way but don't just call the cops on us or flip us off please we're more than happy to share the river with you :)

  • well what happends if you fall off mate?

collect your jetski at the botto of the river or what?

  • @kingoftroy05 I did actually fall off a time or two. Most of the time I could just hold on to the ski & get back on real quick but one time I fell off and floated down stream a ways. You gotta be careful cause there's rocks, rapids, etc. It's a little scary but that's what makes it fun. The skis generally don't sink to the bottom of the river though.

  • Did some rescue training in rapids like these. Really have to work hard to avoid the rocks.

  • @cafryrmn I didn't really hit any rocks but got swept under the water a couple times.

  • South Canyon... sweet, I dig it and I'm a kayaker

  • @surfwindsnow Thanks for being cool and understanding.

  • When I used to take my 11 ft. jetboat (only 50 hp) up the Colo, there used to be an 8 knot speed limit which we totally ignored. However we always respected the canoe people and swimmers so that we wouldn't be hated or maybe dobbed in to the law whoever that was.It was always a buzz to go zipping past a canoe (at a safe distance) poling his way in 6" of water.I didn't bother with the bigger rapids- too many scary rocks.

  • Nice try, you almost didn't make it...lol. JK. And I have two Kawasaki 550's and also get lots of crap riding rivers. I also am a serious rafter and Swift Water Rescue Technician and agree that rafters need to treat us the same as they would a jet boat!
