FT1295 Techfest 2009-10 Full Throttle Inferno Round 2 RC car

Time for the real thing now!! This here is the actual race which took place at IIT Bombay during its Techfest 2009-10 event Full Throttle Inferno.
This is Round 2 with only 36 cars left out of a total of about 110. In this race there are 3 cars racing side by side out of which the first 2 to finish 3 laps will qualify to the next round.
Now the way this race transpired was beyond the belief of our whole team.
First of all, the car to start from the left of the track in the forward direction is our car (The Beast No.666).
Now our car was having starting problems from the first round itself which we were unable to rectify afterwards also. So it started the race with a good pickup but stalled. After that we went 2 laps behind the 2nd car as we were able to use only a third of our throttle.
Just as the car in front of us was about to complete it collided 1 meter before and lost its steering. While the team repaired the steering we miraculously covered almost 2 laps and ended up qualifying ahead of them in a very tight race. We went on to the third round where only 24 cars were left.
All through our last lap the whole crowd were cheering for us.
We were ecstatic after the race and celebrated as though we had achieved what we came for, not to win the competition but to win hearts and to prove ourselves that we can win a race even with a car having only a third of its power!! Team ROTS rocks!!
