Unfortunately, my Mass Effect movie is on hold indefinitely. While I have everything I need to make a complete movie already recorded I wanted to go back and re-record some of the levels, particularly the Mako scenes on Therum, Noveria, and Vermire because I didn't discover the "zoom" function until some time after I had recorded everything. But the 360 (which belonged to my nephews) has gone on the fritz and there's no telling when I might be able to play the game again. I may even have to wait until I finally get my own, but that will take some time as well.

In the meantime, this is another project I've been steadily working on. Jedi Academy is much easier than Mass Effect since the cutscenes are always the same so the focus would be making the action look as cool as possible. I've been putting the missions together out of order and it wasn't until I had about 4 or 5 missions cut and edited together that I could mute the in-game music and add in my own music. I own half the Star Wars soundtracks plus I have other non-Star Wars soundtracks I can use as well. Like I did with the Vjun (or Vader's Castle) mission.

This is an abridged preview of part I of Vjun (the whole video is 15 minutes long). The music at the beginning is of course John Williams, the gameplay music I used is from one of the Ace Combat games, I believe AC 5. I'll have the correct information when I post the final full version.

  • Not bad! if you don't mind a little critique, the music seems to be louder than the dialogue, so maybe reduce the volume a little?

Anyway, love your Jaden. Always pictured her as a Twi'lek as well.

  • I know what you mean. In fact I actually raised the volume of the dialogue in a lot of places. Unfortunately, I already "closed" the project for this video after the final render so the music and dialogue are now the same audio. I still have a version of the video without the music but I would have to redo all the music. Besides, I faded the music during the more important parts during the gameplay :D

  • @01:19 Luke demonstrates the rare Jedi slide.

Apart from that, this was a very cinematic clip. The lightsabre duel in particular was very well "choreographed". Good Job!

  • Thanks. I think I did that last duel about five times before I got one I was happy with. In the movies, lightsaber duels rarely end where they started so I definitely like duels to move around. Had this one lasted a little longer we might have ended up back out in the acid rain ;)
