De lleno en la 2 guerra mundial con algunos nazis de espectadores José ferrer subio al ring con unos shorts con la bandera de españa i el simbolo nazi, Marcel cerdan le obligo a quitarse los shorts, le dijo que el no peleaba contra un pais sino contra el, jose ferrer como respuesta le escupio en la cara,provocando las carcajadas de los nazis, cosa que enfurecio a Marcel cerdan y acabo con José Ferrer.

From all the fights I've seen of Cerdan, he was an outstanding boxer - one of the best IMO. He lost the fight to La Motta because he damaged his shoulder. He was a far superior boxer to La Motta in spite of what the record says. It would have been great to see him against Robinson.

@Snako85 Both Cerdan & LaMotta was great fighters but to say they are both better than Robinson is laughable. i suggest you watch St.Valentines Day Massacre between Robinson v LaMotta. Cerdan was an incredible fighter and its a shame his untimely death robbed us the boxing fans of seeing his championship years.

@flashingswords- It's amazing that the referre: 1) never gave Ferrer a full 10 count, and 2) that he would make him fight after the 3rd K.O. ... did anyone doubt what the result was going to be after K.O #2?... Honestly, for training purpose, we should make the referee fight Cerdan and have Jose Ferrer referee le fight! ....

@beargrizly67 According to what I read Marcel was born and lived in Algier, and Algier was a part of France. And he was a French citizen. As to being naive... I believe, naive are those people who believe various "conspiracy theories".
