The myfirst roto moulder is the worlds first flat pack rotational moulding machine.

The myfirst roto moulder is a tool that we designed to be used and experimented with, we believe in getting involved and trying new things. We hope that designers, model makers, artists and creatives alike can really push this process and create great things.

The myfirst roto moulder comes complete with a sample mould which is visible in the photographs, the sample mould is for the user to try out the process and begin to understand its possibilities. The machines were designed to take moulds of all different shapes and sizes with the help of movable support bars ( maximum size 340mm x 340mm ) The sample mould is a great way to demonstrate the machine and its process but we encourage users to create their own moulds.

Moulds can be made from -
Silicone
Fiberglass
plaster
Resin
Aluminium
rapidid prototype
+ many more

  • nice job where can i get one and how much

  • @MrJester1972 The machines are available along with the recomended resins from the studio myfirst website

    Thanks for commenting

  • studiomyfirst.co.uk

  • what did you combine ??

  • @croberth The material that was combined is a fast cast resin

  • So you basically mix some sort of 2 part epoxy or plastic together throw it in the mold. Spin it super fast, liquid holds to outside of mold and not center, dries, then you pop it out?

That is amazing..!!! What kind of plastic/epoxy are you using? I will have to look into this.. Any design limits?

  • @diyengineer Yeah its Easy!! 2 part fast cast resin with a slow rate of snap cure, into the mould which is rotated nice and slow. The material is actually spun very slowly on the machine, the material will coat the mould naturally at the machine turns. There is no force needed.

    Thanks for the coment!!

  • best song to go with

  • What was that resin you were using in the video? Looks pretty easy to control.

  • I saw and spoke to you guys during the design week last year! really great work!

Makes me want to make a lot moulds of a lot of different shapes. Great piece to add to the industry and use within the design process, especially for designers wanting bespoke pieces!

I'm sure to buy myfirst when I got my final shapes designed and ready.

    best wishes and good luck

  • everything all of the time - radiohead
