The Silent Sufferer (Jonas Brothers) Chapter 5

Bells' POV

When we got home later that night mom was home too. She was sitting on the couch smoking. I leaned down and whispered to T.J. and Lucas.

Me-"Guys go upstairs and be quiet, and don't come back down."
T.J.-"Why?"
Me-"It'll be okay just go on."

I made sure to hear their door shut before I went in the living room. When she smoked she was mad, and the more she smoked the madder she got.

Mom-"Where were you?"
Me-"Eating dinner at a friends house."
Mom-"Do you have any idea how worried I've been?"
Me-"Yeah right."
Mom-"What is that suppose to mean?"

She couldn't seriously be asking that question could she?

Me-"Mom you've never been there for us. We were hungry, I went o the store and ran into a friend and he invited me to dinner with his family. That's it."

Mom-"He?"
Me-"Yes, mom he."
Mom-"Why did T.J and Lucas go?"
Me-"He invited them too."

She stood up and walked over to me, glaring the whole time.

Mom-"I have always been there for you, and T.J and Lucas."

Me-"The only time you've been there for us was when dad was alive."

She slapped me across the face. Then pushed down and pressed the cigarette into my arm. I kept my mouth closed from screaming so T.J and Lucas wouldn't come down.

Mom-"Never bring up your father again."

She stomped on the cigarette and then stomped on my face. I waslaid there pretending to be crying and waited.

And waited.
And waited.
And waited.

Until I finally heard it, the click of moms lights in her bedroom turning off. She was asleep. Wasting no time I quietly ran up to T.J and Lucas's room. They were both asleep and it took me nearly forever to wake them up.

Lucas-"What is it?"
Me-"Shh, I want both of you to be quiet don't talk at all until we're in the car. I want you guys to quietly get dressed and put all the clothes you have in a bag and if you have any money take that too. Don't worry about anything else just clothes and money."

I left them without saying anything else. I put all my clothes and money in my old backpack and got my keys. When I went to the front door Lucas and T.J were already there. We got everything into the car and drove off. They didn't bother me with any questions the whole time we eventually came to a stop. Right in front of Raindrop Park.

Me-"Guys we're going to be staying for just a while. When you go to school tomorrow don't tell anybody we're here."
