My dad taught me this song when I was 4 or 5. To my mom's horror, I sang it to my kindergarden class on show and tell day. I can't wait to do the same to my boys!

@W24YI I found your comment via Google search while looking up Stuart Hamblen music. Yes, indeed I do have "Sheepskin Corn and a Wrinkle on a Horn" in both the Superior and Columbia records 78 RPM releases. I prefer the Superior release.

The "original" by a hard drinkin', hell raisin', beer brawlin',Cowboy Star - Stuart Hamblen before he found "The Lord" from a Billy Graham Crusade. era 1949.
Thank You Stuart for a fun song & God Bless You.

Wonderful. It took me way way back in time. Thank you so much!

Love it! The 1961 cover version by Jimmy Dean isn't hard to take, either.

@jdlempi I can relate with that. My sister got up in front of church at the request of her Sunday school teacher to sing a song. She sang All around the water tank by jimmy rogers.

In 1948-49 this was playing over and over out in the living room when I was a young boy. My sisters and I were looking out the bedroom window down into the driveway where my Dad and our next door neighbor "Web" were fighting two men they'd been playing poker with. My dad rammed one guy's head into the grill of his new pickup while Web was getting his butt kicked. The two guys finally left and my Dad and Web came back in crowing about how they'd whipped them boys good. Over cheating...

My dad had this record when I was a kid, which horrified my mother. She hated it. Years later my sister found a 45 version of this at a yard sale and sent it to me. alas, it was lost too. Now I'm happy to have it here.
Great!
Who else has recorded this?

I only know of it by Stuart, & Jimmy Dean also had a hit with it in the early 60's.
