  • approximately how much would it cost to get a plastic sheet like that? thx

  • @ny1fanta oh wow, it was a while ago, but i think i paid a couple of hundred bucks for a sheet 4ft x 8ft, 8mm thick... it will last forever though...

  • Would a 47inch octo box give a similar quality of light compared to the parabolic umbrella?

  • @redtippmann yeah sure - any large soft light source will give a similar affect. thanks for watching.

  • Hi Tim, I like your stuff, great sharing!

I am building a studio and I like your wall mount bracket you have for the backlight.

Are they both the manfrotto, I'm trying to find a cheaper version or a knock off.

    Andrew

  • @TheMorts100 Hey Andrew. Thanks for your comments. The longer one (right of screen, black) is a Manfrotto 098B Wall Boom arm ($399) and the shorter (left of screen, sliver) is a Premier Wall Boom Arm WB-1690 ($140). I would only recommend the Manfrotto however, it is much more sturdy than the Premier. Your studio strobes are expensive, delicate devices, give them the best support u can afford...

  • That was a lot of work to put this stuff together. I respect that. Thanks for posting this.

  • @pastori70 it's the same D90 kits lens on both, i suspect the other copy has a bad coating on it. Also i tried 50mm F1.4, and it causes a very apparent lens flare... the same with sigma 24-70 f2.8, but not so apparent in the sigma.

  • @JoeCaliforniah I've heard that it depends about lens. If youre dead sure that you have right lighting ratios and you're still getting flare, try another lens!

  • Great video!

  • @timmy1103 Hi Tim, sometimes i got a lens flare doing your style of studio setup, is it because of the lens? im using d90 kit lens. I have 2 D90s, and so I tried with the other D90, and the other one was perfect.
