    Cheers from Sydney, Australia

  • "I want to be Livia to your Augustus." It's not like he wasn't warned. But as evil as Livia was, she didn't use sex as a weapon.

  • 9:28, who the hell does Adam Sandler think he is to tell Claudius that he's not fit to be emperor?

  • Only today in the USA do we see such as Rome.

  • @Ereldor It is available online via Amazon and free viewing for Prime members. I enjoyed that series too, not as good as this, but good.

  • I was just wondering; do you know of a BBC series called 'The First Churchills'? It was supposed to be a mini-series about the Duke of Marlborough, and was supposed to be a very reputable adaptation of Winston's book on his ancestor's exploits. Do you know of it, or where I could find a copy?

  • @DaveFromBrooklyn Apple & Oranges regarding book & series.

  • @watson800 I find the book to be Apples & Oranges in the structure and composition of the stories. Which isn't a bad thing by any means. In fact, they both hold up on their own. The only commonalities I find is the wickedness of the stories, and the actors fit perfectly into the personalities of Robert Graves' characters. When reading the book, I can't even imagine, let's say Augustus & Livia, being anybody else but Brian Blessed & Sian Phillips, respectively.

  • The Greek doctor is awesome!

  • "I want to be Livia to your Augustus!"

  • Messalina is such a little biotch! i hope her downfall is iminent. she reminds me a little of Katherine Howard in the tudors who downfall also centred around more or less the same circumstances (lust and scheming and betrayal) and she also met quite a grisly end....here's hoping the same for Messalina!
