Fabulous as usual Daddy. I especially like the chromatic Lonnie Johnson nods. Let's have some more Tommy Johnson ! He's one of the greats. Keep it up pops.

Its taken me about 6 months to learn" Needed Time "and now i feel a lot of hours is going to be spent on this tune . So long as you keep posting I'll remain single or married to my guitar. Thanks for saving me so much grief and bringing so much joy. You are a legend !

Very nice...Indeed. One of my own favourite songs. Saw Spencer Bohren play it in NC a few years ago, another nice version, now out on one of his CDs. Keep rolling, bro.

Love Tommy Johnson. This is really deftly played. That old parlor style guitar sounds great.
Right up my street this one.
Cheers Mr. Stovepipe

Thanks, steel strings with that typical ladder braced blues sound.
Van Ronk uses this kind of D-chord (with the pinky on the 4th string) in his Sunday Street Blues...don't know his Candy Man version though.

Very good Mr stovepipe as usual ! 5 stars my friend :), may i ask what guitar is that it looks like it has a 2' inch wide neck am i right ?, if so it very rare to find a guitar with that width..
Cheers,
Jesse.

Thanks all for the kind words.
The neck is just under 2" (1 7/8); not unusual for guitars of that period - necks were larger and chunkier because they didn't have truss rods to reinforce them.

@daddystovepipe is the neck shorter than a regular or is that just the camera angle?

@wearestarstuffsagan
It's a small parlor guitar with a short scale - the neck meets the body at the 12th fret and not the 14th as most guitars, therefore it looks shorter but it's not.
