My dad and I have pulled out all the stops for this one. The end result?: One of my BEST train chases. And my first time chasing the Amtrak California Zephyr. We start off with a catch of the train blasting out of the Moffat Tunnel. After a fast trip down the mountain we catch her at the Blue Mtn. Road crossing. One of the best locations on the Moffat Route. We hurry on, just in time to catch the train blast around the former D&RGW's famous "Big Ten Curve". After that, we arrive to Amtrak's brand new, temporary depot, right next door to Denver Union Station. (which at the time of this filming, was being rebuilt) The train gets serviced, and highballs out of town with a fresh load of passengers, and a new crew to continue the train's journey to Chicago.
