@bloosummer Its always easier if you have more and the right tools. When making tutorial videos, its nice to refrain from using industry standard tools and using what most people have at home have....a stool , a vise, and a hammer lol. It being the bare minimum and still making it work is nice for people who would rather not spend the money on more tools.

Good video and he got the job done with the tools used. My advice: safety glasses!! We can get cuts or dirt just about anywhere on our body, but eyes are the worst to get an injury. Mechanics gloves. A small sledge or ball peen instead of a claw hammer. Brass drift instead of a piece of pipe. Also I wouldn't hammer directly on the trunion or drive shaft.

Don't hammer directly on the driveshaft you're risking knocking it out of balance/ phase.
-
why dont you use a choope hide hammer and hit the driveshaft the vibrations cause the uj caps to just vibrate out and it makes you feel better

You could post a video here for how to boil water, and you'd get a dozen guys saying you're an idiot for doing it wrong. If you followed these procedures, would you get your u joints out? Yup. I guess they're good instructions then! I didn't have a big enough vice to do it this way, but the tips about using the old sockets helped me tremendously. Thanks for the video!

it helps if you have more tools than a hammer, milk crate, and a vice unmounted to the floor.
