A poetic reflection on the air-bombing of the Twin Towers -- plus a little more. i wrote (or though-wrote) the original poem in the days just following 911 as a way to process the immediate shock and subsequent emotional swirl. I should quickly offer than any pain I felt (though numbing too me) would be so small by contrast to any who experienced the experience close up, especially with the death of loved ones. This is no "direct" hit, and I can only pray for those who still bear the weight of those days.

Final note. If you know me, pretend you don't. I take some liberties in style that push the crazed poet look. I may dapple at the edges, but part of this is theatre.
