My first serious attempt at 3d tracking, using PFtrack 4 and 3Ds Max 8...was not meant to be 100 percent perfect, but am pleased with the result. (Re-Uploaded due to YouTube error on video)

  • so how do you get it to output the position data of the band aid. Every time i do it it exports the camera orientation and not something in the scene.

  • @Tomos17451

I just animated a mask to isolate the band aid and the track created the position data

  • Hi thegunslinger3k...YouTube screwed up my original upload so I had to re-upload it.

I started having playback errors just after they put in the HQ option...eventualy it just gave me the "classic" error message. Glad you remember it though...thanks :)

  • PFTrack for tracking, 3ds Max for 3d modeling and Adobe After fx for compositing.

  • very nice

  • looks good, you should of removed the tracking refrence in comp though also.

  • very nice ^^

  • hahaha a Band-Aid!!!! thats brilliant !!!

thats much better than draw that little points in the skin

    Great idea dude!

  • awesome! i've been trying to incorporate 3d into a scene i'm working on using pf track. trying to track in a cube into someone's moving hand w/ no camera movement. i've only been able to find tutorials where they explain how to track in an object if i set up 2 cameras from different perspectives, but this looks like you couldnt have possibly done that since it looks like you shot free hand. did you only track camera and then animate this watch or were you able to get the watch to follow a track?

  • Bravo!
