http://www.lockergnome.com/windows/2012/01/26/ftp-server-windows-7/ - One of the oldest and most popular methods for sharing files over the Web from one central location is the File Transfer Protocol (FTP). FTP clients allow people from across the globe (or even next door) to share a mutual storage space and/or remotely update a website with ease. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to have a server operating system to run an FTP server from your own system. Windows 7, currently the most widely installed operating system for consumers, is actually capable of hosting an FTP server.

  • how we can transfer file on apple tv

  • Hi Brother,

You seem to be good at IT and I wonder if you could help me setup FTP Filezilla on my new PC with W7 OS.

Filezilla works fine with XPpro but the same setting in W7 doesn't. You are expert and my e-mail is rajinder.nijjhar@ntlworld.com.

I have over 2450 Youtube Videos on Christianity/Islam, etc. and you may love to watch some.

  • grab an old router with USB storage then setup openwrt or another custom firmware, then strip out some functions make it into a FTP box. Never run an FTP server on your main PC, it is just not worth the security risk. Get a old router or something where if it does get compromised, the attacker will not be able to cause much damage.

  • I believe Putty is more related to tty than the command put. (dont know what the "Pu" would mean)

  • @gundambob646 I use it for my web servers , So i can just drag and drop and continue working on another project . Command line i would have to know the name of the file etc too much work ;)

  • What about AFP? Is that safer since it is for mac only?

  • @GMELECTRONICS365 Why not just run command line?
