This research has been conducted by Biomedical Mechatronics Laboratory at Northeastern University under the supervision of Professor Constantinos Mavroidis.
The Robotic Gait Rehabilitation (RGR) Trainer is being developed for gait retraining of patients post-stroke. The RGR Trainer targets secondary gait deviations in the pelvis. This prototype of the RGR Trainer generates force-fields around the pelvis to discourage hip-hiking, a secondary compensatory gait deviation characterized by raising the affected hip joint to achieve foot clearance during leg swing.
