These DNA molecular visualizations were created for the multifaceted 'DNA' project, celebrating the 50th anniversary in 2003 of the discovery of the double helix. The 'DNA' project includes a five-part documentary series, museum film and 'DNAi' online resources for teachers and students.

The dynamics and molecular shapes were based on X-ray crystallographic models and other published scientific data sets. Leading scientists, including many Nobel Laureates, critiqued the animations during their development. Particular effort was made to ensure the relative shapes, sizes and 'real-time' dynamics were as accurate as possible.

I prefer to base my positions on evidence, rather than puritanical supposition written during the dark ages, that psuedo-intellectual theologists use to lend weight to their delusions.

Religious fuckwads, you are entitled to your beliefs, but kindly fuck off, this is biology go and talk to your believer friends. btw, if you were secure in your beliefs, you wouldn't need to come here and bore people with your fucking clichés.

Does any one know what the term is at 0:27 The process starts when DNA is wrapped around special protein molecules called ??

I think those are the histone tails. Each histone subunit has an N terminal tail that points 'outwards' of the histone.

I was just starting to buy all the Darwinism mumbo jumbo, when I stumbled across cellular animations like the one above. Ooooh My. These animations really should be banned, for the sake of the poor evolutionary biology professors of the world who need to stand up in front of their classes and tell lies about how evolution is "well understood", "a fact" and "more certain than gravity or the air we breath". LOL.

Think of the poor professors. Don't be selfish. Censor this stuff.

I highly suggest you take a look into abiogenesis, or how complex cellular structures came into existence from simple amino acids. Remember that modern cells are the result of billions of years of cellular evolution, what came first was infinitely simpler than what we have now.

Aside from all this scientific and religious debate, what are those dark purple strands coming out from the histone around 0:26?
