i bet if there was no visual and you put that solo over a decent rhythm section, a lot of people wouldn't even know it was a machine.

And i've heard some humans play with less soul. :-)

it lacks the feeling, but still its interesting to see how far machines can go

come on, you got to give it to the engineer, he's intent was not to offend the jazz community, just to do something pretty cool with robotics and programming, we should be flattered that he went to the classics to find inspiration.

I hear that this robot really let his life go to hell. He drank a quart of 10W-30 every day, and half the gigs he was on he ended up fighting with the mixing board. One time he ran off with his manager's Roland Keyboard and went off on a bender of hydraulic fluid. After spending some time in the Silicon Valley Rehab, he ended up gigging at a local Chuck E. Cheese, next to the Gorilla. He later died wire-less, was stripped down for his parts, and set up on concrete blocks.

There are the Coltrane's notes and that's all. There's no emotion! There' nothing about feeling, dynamics or human touch. Just like that! It is an interesting mechanical and computer experiment , but I don't think that machine could create a great solo full of beauty. Of course, that's my opinion.

That's because it's played by a machine.
