I bet you would want to be free. You ancestors died for an unjust cause. The flag's symbol itself is tarnished. Its like if I flew a nazi flag, just cuz my grampa was german. That can mean no hate, but the flag itself is tarnished, and therefore I would he disgraced if I flew a nazi flag outside( unless if I was racist

@tehrulez I know you mean well but you are way off course. The American Civil War was not fought over ending slavery. It was fought over taxes. Abraham Lincoln said so many times. Lincoln said as long as the taxes are collected there will be no invasion. The taxes were not paid and there was an invasion. Nazis would not like the Confederates.The Confederate secretary of defense was Jewish. There were free Blacks in the south. Blacks were not allowed in most of the north. {><}

@Skattles54 Yes, but many negro owned plantations were willing to work. Many were their relatives and they bought them back. Pretty much all negroes that owned plantations back then were once slaves.

Plus, the majority of people thought that slavery was acceptable. Few slaves could marry, have a family, testify in court, or even own property.The north taxed the cotton so much is because the rich slave owners made massive amounts of money not by their own, but by their slaves, not by THEMSELVES
