@Aviatortothesea- I agree with most of your comments. It's nice to know that there are true Lao ppl with Lao pride out there. I admired the fact that you left Laos since the age of 2 and still I have strong connections to our country- Laos. Laos and Thai languages 90% the same, we can learn English, France, Russia and etc... If you are Laos or Thai and said you do not understand the Laos or Thai languages. That mean YOU "B**Sh**t* YOURSELF...

Yes Thais look down on Lao and they even tell foreigners there that we are low class and steal.I've spoken to alot of "farangs" that live in Thailand.They think are accent is funny and make fun of us.They say why do you say "sa bai dee", I don't have a cold?WellI I say why do Thais say "sa wat dee",I didn't ask you how your cold is doing.I'm sure Thais would accept Alexandra even if she was pure Lao as long as she was pretty, which I don't think she's gorgeous but she's pretty.

All of Northern Thailand speak a Lao dialect, and Chiang Mai culture and culture like it is Lao culture.They eat sticky rice and speak from a dialect derived from Vientiane, Laos.Thai accent is much prettier than Lao accent to me.I have heard many Lao ppl in America speaking Thai and lying to others about being Thai and pretending they are Thai, it's so damn pathetic.For what??Most Lao ppl are ghetto.Sorry if I offended anyone, but that's my opinion.Would love to go back to Lao and stay there.

I have been around fresh from Laos ppl and wow they were pretty bad, but Thais can be the same too.And I understand alot of Thai however I understand the basics, I don't know it fluently esp. when they speak fast.I can understand it more than I can speak it.Same with Lao.What annoys me is that Chiang Mai and Isaan are derived from both Lao culture, they just speak in different accents yet Thais only claim Chiang Mai, Rai, because it's prettier culture to them.howe, bo hoo, ai, that's all Lao.

I'm not talking about all Lao or Thai ppl.It's like that for every culture.I'm specifying Lao because I am Lao.I wish Meung Lao wasn't so poor I would love to go back, it has to do with education and mentality of ppl.If ppl can learn to come together and help their country then there wouldn't be such a brain drain in Laos where all the educated flock to other countries for a better life, my father was in the Royal Lao Airforce and graduated from college, that wasn't good enough.Had to immigrate

I'm Lao and I can say I cannot stand alot of Lao ppl, let's not lie to ourselves, I left Lao with my parents at age 2, I cannot say how Meung Lao is now because I have never been there since nor can I recall how it was.Most Lao ppl I have met with the exception of my relatives are ignorant, low class, selfish and think about only themselves.I have also been around Thai and I can tell you alot of the Thai women are just like the lakorn, jealous and immature.
